I'll demonstrate how I create chalk paint blending highlights on an antique Washstand. Featuring @DixieBellePaint Chalk Mineral Paint in Burlap as a base coat, and blending sections of Drop Cloth for the highlights, creates a timeless look. In this video, I'll feature a Chalk Painted French Provincial Desk. When I purchased this French Provincial desk it needed a little TLC. Especially a missing section of trim on the back of the desk. I repaired that using a piece of Wood-U-Bend molding that I sanded and filled. I sanded the top so it was fresh and smooth. For the color palette, I knew it needed to be classy and simple. French Linen color Chalk Mineral paint was the perfect base. Blending in highlights with Sand Bar, then some lovely vignettes of Mud Putty to help the depth of the desk stand out even more. The details needed Gold Gilding Wax to take it over the top. For this tutorial, well showcase drippy layered Dixie Belle chalk paint furniture using Dixie Belle products. In this demonstration, you'll see me use several @DixieBellePaint Brushes along with sever chalk mineral paint colors and even a couple misting bottles to achieve a moody deep color scheme. For this demonstration, I wanted to give a wooden garden toolbox a whole new look using a boho-style finish including a rice paper pop. This wood box will get a 3-color @DixieBellePaint Chalk Paint color scheme of Mermaid Tail, Muscadine Wine, and Colonel Mustard. The Decoupage Rice paper is the Colorful Tile version. For this demonstration, I'll feature @DixieBellePaint Grunge Glaze and Dixie Dirt on an antique table base to help bring back an antiqued finish. The top of the table was sanded and stained with Dixie Belle's No Pain Gel Stain: American Honey—one of m favorite colors of NPGS. Once I applied Chalk Mineral Paint: Manatee Gray, I then applied the glaze with the Dirt. A light distressing also helped add a more authentic look. Satin top coat and Gator Hide gives the table an overall durable protective finish. For this Singer Sewing Machine Drawer Set, I used @DixieBellePaint Chalk Mineral paint to add layers of washes to add depth and to achieve a vintage cottage feel. I used 4 chalk paint colors: Vintage Duck Egg (neutral color), Mermaid Tail (dark color), Rebel Yellow (complement color), and Sea Glass (light color). It's a fun easy process that brings a stunning new look to these dry and old drawers. Off camera, I used Dixie Belle's Howdy-do Hemp Seed Oil to take the cabinet wood from dry to fresh and rich.
